Honda Civic Type-R (FK8): The first Mini GT
The Honda Civic Type-R, chassis/generation code FK8 is the first Mini GT casting to be release by Mini GT. It was based on the preface-lift version of the Type-R that came out in 2017.
The first numbered Mini GT was the Championship White Honda Civic Type-R, number 00001.
While its the first numbered car, it was not the first Mini GT to be put on store shelves. It suffered quality issues and was delayed from release. The first Mini GT to hit store shelves is the Honda Civic Type-R in Aegean Blue Metallic, number 00002.
Throughout the next couple years, different colors and versions of the Civic would be released. One version was named the Modulo Edition and included many installed factory accessories including the desirable white rims. Number 00022 was a Type-R pace car that served in the ADAC TCR race series in Germany.
The final casting version was the HKS. The casting featured a HKS exhaust and some other parts based off the HKS Honda Civic Type-R.
The FK8 Type-R was also used by Mini GT as a promotional gift. It was given to dealers at the 2018 Nurnberg Toy Fair and was produced for Team Liquid as a promotional item for Twitchcon in 2019. The last numbered Type-R released is 00101, which ended in a bang with the highly desirable HKS Type-R in HKS's oil spill livery.
